awakeinthenight asked: Similar to the ask before, if you ever go to Washington D.C., check out the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. They have a beautiful gem/mineral exhibit and it's free!

That is the exhibit that sparked me starting this blog two years ago! I spent the whole day in there and realized I needed to dig up photos on the Internet to share with people. I also went last year around my birthday.

ravenshiddensoul asked: I just wanted to let you know that your stones are beautiful, I envy your collection, I'll raid your online store as soon as I have some spare change... and you've taught me the names of more stones than any geology class or crystal book I've ever experienced! Thank you so much for dedicating a blog to these often overlooked wonders of the world~

You have no idea how nice it is to hear I’ve helped you learn and grown your love for minerals. You’re wonderful!

daerharas asked: Have you ever visited the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh? There is an absolutely beautiful hall of minerals and gems that is amazing for anyone who is a fan.

No I have not, but I lived in Pittsburgh for a year 2009-2010. When I visit old friends I will most certainly go! Thanks for the tip :)

sludgemansion asked: I'm definitely buying from your store as soon as I get paid. I know my mom will love that boulder opal. P.S. Great blog and I hope your shop prospers!

You’re the sweetest, thank you. I am in love with the Boulder Opal. I’m sure your mom will give it a great home :)

My Mineral Altar

I also need to post a photo of my mineral collection atop my cabinet in my room. If I do not post a photo the next couple days, bombard me with messages, threaten me, do whatever you have to do! They are my most sentimental minerals and it would mean a lot to share with you all.

nuggetsofembeddedweirdness asked: I'd love to see pre- and post-cutting photos of those geodes.

That is a great idea. I’ll definitely do that!
