deathcomes4u asked: I've been interested in and collecting crystals and semi-precious stones for over a decade now, but there is one stone that baffles me. Have you ever come across Goldstone? Also known as Sunstone? 'Gold' and 'blue' are the more common variations, and I got a small green specimen while in England, but I have never been able to ascertain whether it is a natural or a man made or man effected stone. It's never been in crystal identification guides I've found. Know anything about it?
I have some Goldstone. It sure is beautiful. The reason why you haven’t been able to find it in identification guides is because it is manmade. The gold color is produced by bits of copper. Read this article if you wish to find out more! It is always disappointing to find out something is artificial. Let’s just be thankful man has crafted such a captivating stone!
