pilot-of-middle-earth asked: Regarding the question you were asked earlier, about that reddish/brown globular mineral, to me it looks like Hematite (Fe2O3) formed in a hydrothermal mineral vein as quartz is a common mineral also found in mineral veins. Hematite can be found in globular formations, also known as Kidney ore, similar to the small formations in the picture and has a range of colors from Brown, various reds, steel grey and to black.
